New York: The Broadway Experience
Arts & Sciences Travel Study
Spring Break: March 7-11, 2018
Led by Keith White and Andrew Nelson from the Theatre department, this program provides you the exciting chance to experience Broadway in New York while earning Lewis credit. The program will stay in New York City for four nights and includes tickets to four Broadway shows. Participants will be able to purchase additional half-price tickets for the shows of their choice at the TKTS Booth for the Wednesday and Saturday Matinees. In addition to shows, participants will get to meet with Lewis Alumni working in the business, and tour NYC sites including the 911 Memorial and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
You will be registered for the seminar during the Spring 2016 semester. You should consult with your major advisor to ascertain which courses will be most appropriate for your academic plan. In addition to the coursework that you will be doing while you are travelling, you will also have some course meetings on campus before the trip. These meetings will provide an opportunity to better prepare for all of the things that you will experience during your travel component.

The cost of the 2018 Arts & Sciences New York Travel Study program is expected to be approximately $TBD. The program fee includes airfare, accommodation, local transportation, museum visits, tickets to shows, and program-sponsored excursions. In most cases, the tuition costs for the courses will be included in the normal Lewis tuition package rate. The seminar and the program fee will be placed onto your student account during the 2018 Spring semester.
The program fee does not include additional meals, supplies, and personal expenses.
Program fees are based on costs of the prior year, as well as projections for the current and coming years. Inflation and fluctuating exchange rates make it difficult to state a fixed cost. Lewis University, therefore, reserves the right to adjust program fees and the right to cancel or alter programs and courses.
To be eligible, you must be a Lewis student with at least a 2.75 GPA who has Sophomore, Junior, or first semester Senior standing or will have that standing when you participate. There are no language prerequisites for this program..
