Housing
Spanish Studies Abroad offers students the opportunity to live in a Spanish home during their program. Your Spanish home will be the focal point of your social experience– where you will sleep, eat, study, and relax.  Your homestay in a shared double room includes full room and board as well as laundry and the cleaning of your room. Special dietary or housing accommodations may be made, but may require an additional fee. To ensure that your home will provide a warm and tranquil atmosphere, one conducive to learning, Spanish Studies staff discusses norms and policies with hosts and regularly inspects the homes.

Cost
For the current program charge amount, please check the Budget Sheets located at the top of the page or contact the Study Abroad Office.  The program charge includes Lewis tuition, accommodation in a homestay, three meals per day Monday-Saturday, program-sponsored excursions, and a mandatory $300 Lewis Study Abroad fee.

The program fee does not include airfare, passport and/or visa fees, additional meals, supplies, and personal expenses.

Program charges are based on costs of the prior year, as well as projections for the current and coming years. Inflation and fluctuating exchange rates make it difficult to state a fixed cost. Lewis University, therefore, reserves the right to adjust program fees and the right to cancel or alter programs and courses.

Application
To be eligible, you must be a Lewis student with at least a 3.0 GPA who has Sophomore, Junior, or first semester Senior standing or will have that standing when you participate.  You must have taken at least one semester of Spanish language prior to participating in this program.
